Arpaouza. The story Returning from a hike during a hot summer a few years ago in the upper Stura valley, we happened upon this small hamlet, above Pietraporzio. It often happens that we were amazed by the view, the charm and the authenticity of the old village houses. Exploring the village, we came across the house that is the current Arpaouza. Being as much with this valley in love as we are, and eager to make its beauty known to others, we decided to renovate the old building and thus allow our guests a comfortable stay in this wonderful place. In the past, the Arpaouza was a typical “big” building of the’ architecture of the Valley. On the ground floor was the stable, in the middle the living quarters and on the top floor the barn with hay. and the beams where agricultural products were hung to be dried. Today, the building has been converted into 4 comfortable apartments. including a large common room on the ground floor. Every apartment is indipendent and it offers these services: a cooking zone with electric stove and oven dishwasher TV blow-dryer internet Parking On the ground floor there is a laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer for all guests. At your arrival all the apartments will be furnished with all the essential ( salt, oil, sugar, coffee, dish soap, toilet paper etc). La Campaneto and Lou Serpoul don’t have architectural boundaries that deny access to people with disabilities.(La Campaneto e Lou Serpoul) Domestic animals are welcomed at the Arpaouza! Gino, the keeper of the Arpaouza lives right beside the house and he is available to help the guests for any curiosity or need. He is in charge of welcoming the guests, he shows them the apartments and he is available for any necessity during your staying. He also takes care of the vegetable garden of the Arpaouza whose veggies are available for the guests of the house. Therefore you can eat fresh food! La Crota is the common room of the Arpaouza and it is meant for all the guest to relax, meet people, read books, be the setting of the parties of the guests. It is also possible to leave there your ski-gears in the wintertime. In the common room there is a little library where you can find maps of the area and different kind of books. Also, there is a little toy library with board games for all ages. There is a fireplace, comfortable chairs and sofas and also a sauna all the guests.
